Carson Material Handling

Carson Material Handling has been selling, repairing, renting, and dealing in forklift service and sales since 2004, amazingly all without a fully functioning and indexed website. They came to me with only their company logo and a simple request that the new site could be found in a browser search. I was left with a few content specifications and full creative license.

My goal was to create a fully responsive site that was clean and minimal, but also had an industrial feel to match the large, heavy machinery they service and sell. A high contrast red, black, and white color palette with primarily rectangular shapes, and few soft edges, in conjunction with dense block lettering, maximize the industrious nature of the business.

The Lincoln Project is a group of researchers in the Cardiology department of East Carolina University that developed a holistic approach to health intervention and disease prevention in rural communities of Eastern North Carolina. I worked for the Lincoln Project during my time at ECU as a graduate student, providing the project with a logo, website, informational video, and infographics.

The researchers needed a way to demonstrate the goals of the project, disseminate data and information, and reach larger numbers of potential donors for grant funding. The challenge of this work was to present large amounts of data and statistics on a website that still maintained visual appeal and organization.
